July 2010.Taken near my home in South Petherwin,Cornwall.Although initally looking like a caterpiller of a Butterfly or Moth this is in fact the larve of the Iris Saw Fly (Rhadinoceraea micans ), which munch thier way through Flag Iris leaves.
